This spring Penn State expects to award 13,894 diplomas to students University-wide who are completing 226 associate, 11,435 baccalaureate, 1,590 master’s, 262 law, 244 doctoral and 137 medical degrees. Amanda-Claudia Scott, corporate communication student, has been honored by the Luzerne County Council on Adult Higher Education as the Penn State Wilkes-Barre 2017 Outstanding Adult Learner recipient.
On April 27, Penn State Wilkes-Barre celebrated the Leadership and Athletics Awards Ceremony presented by the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Student Government Association. During this ceremony, annual campus awards are presented in addition to the ceremonial passing of the gavel between the outgoing and incoming SGA president.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre and Chancellor Dale Jones honored the campus' 2017 graduating class on May 6 during a commencement ceremony in the Athletic and Recreation Building.
"Photo 100 – Best of Class,” an art gallery photography exhibit prepared in collaboration with students in Photo 100, will be on display in the Friedman Art Gallery at Penn State Wilkes-Barre through the end of August. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
Penn State is moving toward a University-wide health insurance requirement for the 2018-19 academic school year. In preparation for the new requirement, University Health Services (UHS) will begin collecting student health insurance information in May 2017.
