Rose Bowl viewing party set for Jan. 2 in Wilkes-Barre

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre Alumni Constituent Society will host a Rose Bowl party on Jan. 2, 2017, to celebrate the Nittany Lions' incredible season, which culminated in a Big Ten championship. The party, scheduled for No. 5 Penn State’s matchup against the No. 9 University of Southern California Trojans, gets underway 30 minutes before the game’s 5 p.m. kickoff at the River Grille, located at 670 North River Street in Wilkes-Barre.

Marc Anthony Merino Jr. was one of more than 250 students to receive his degree at Penn State Harrisburg’s fall 2016 commencement ceremony on Dec. 17. He received a bachelor of science in criminal justice from the School of Public Affairs, with a minor in psychological science. Dale Jones appointed chancellor at Penn State Wilkes-Barre

Vernon Dale Jones, vice president for strategy, administration and board affairs at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, has been named chancellor and chief academic officer at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Jones, whose appointment is effective Jan. 16, succeeds Charles Davis, who is retiring after leading the Wilkes-Barre campus since March 2006.

Penn State has officially launched Let's Grow State, a new crowdfunding platform for fundraising projects across the University. The platform, managed by the Office of Annual Giving in the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, is designed for individuals or groups of Penn Staters to promote and raise money for the ideas, projects, and causes that are important to them.
