Penn State Wilkes-Barre professor and team earn international award

Jeremy Olson, assistant professor of criminal justice at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, has received international recognition for his research in the field of restorative justice, a philosophy that believes that people can and should live in ways where they avoid doing harm to each other. Olson led a group of researchers on a project that reviewed how American schools were implementing restorative justice into their discipline practices.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre alumnus to play basketball in Europe

Kevin Major, a 2022 graduate of Penn State Wilkes-Barre, has signed a contract to play professional basketball in Albania this season. Major will play with the team BC Partizani Tirana, which plays in the Albanian A-1 league and is the most successful team in Albanian basketball history with 33 championships won.

Holiday craft show set for Nov. 5 at Penn State Wilkes-Barre

Members of the community are invited to attend the 33rd annual Arts at Hayfield Homespun Holidays Craft Show on Sunday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. inside Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s Student Commons Building and Athletic and Recreation Building. The event will feature more than 100 crafters who will display and market artwork, jewelry and more.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre has appointed Joe Domino as its new head soccer coach for the 2024 season. A native of upstate New York, Domino has more than 25 years of experience coaching girls junior varsity and boys varsity soccer at Ichabod Crane Central School District in New York.
