Students Spend Spring Break Learning Native Culture

Seven students from the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Chapter of Penn State University's Schreyer Honors College recently spent their Spring Break studying the indigenous people of the West Rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona as part of an honors course offered this spring at Penn State Wilkes-Barre.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Alumni Offer Basketball Bus Trip

On Sunday, February 13, the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Alumni Constituent Society is offering a bus trip to the Bryce Jordan Center in State College to watch the Penn State men's basketball team take on the Northwestern Wildcats. The bus will depart from the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus in Lehman at 10 a.m. The trip costs $25 for students or $50 for non-students and includes bus transportation, ticket to the basketball game, and a lunch buffet at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel prior to the 3:30 p.m. game.

THON 2011 Dancers Named

Beginning Friday, February 18, Penn State Wilkes-Barre students Dara Rose and Bob Veneskey will spend 46 straight hours awake and on their feet, participating in the 2011 Penn State Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON).

Faculty Member Publishes Book

Dr. Charles D. Ghilani, Professor of Engineering at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, recently authored the 13th edition of "Elementary Surveying: An Introduction in Geomatics," published by Prentice Hall. This introductory text presents fundamental information on modern surveying practices and highlights current technological advances in the field of geomatics.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Students Win Arts Award

Arts at Hayfield, a non-profit community arts support organization housed at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, recently awarded Penn State Wilkes-Barre students Shannon Brace and Yu Wei Xie the Irene Thomas Memorial Award for their contributions to the arts.
