    Biography

    Dr. Frank Derby is an Associate Professor Emeritus of Surveying Engineering at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. He holds a B.Sc. in Surveying and Mapping Sciences from the University of East London (England) and Ph.D. from the University of Florida (Gainesville). Dr. Derby has extensive international experience in surveying and land/geographic information systems. He has worked as a land surveyor in the United Kingdom, South America, Africa, and in the Caribbean. He has also served as a consultant to the World Bank and the Commonwealth Secretariat of the Great Britain (under the Commonwealth Fund for Technical Cooperation).  Dr. Derby joined the faculty of the Surveying program at Penn State Wilkes-Barre in January of 1997 and retired in May of 2021.
