Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education offers a variety of post-baccalaureate courses and other professional-development opportunities designed to meet the continuing education goals of educators. Penn State is an approved provider of Act 48 continuing education, and we deliver courses all year long. Classes run in the evenings and during summer sessions, with both blended and online delivery formats. Remote Teaching: Tools, Tips, and Hints
This four-hour workshop was designed to help educators meet the exceptional challenges they are facing due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The class will provide basic skills in tools any educator can use right away for remote teaching. Delivered via Zoom videoconferencing.

English as a Second Language (ESL)
The English as a Second Language Certificate (ESL) offers an innovative program for educators who wish to be ESL-certified instructors in Pennsylvania. Upon completion of this accelerated 15-credit (5 course) certificate program, you will have gained 15 credits towards a PDE Instruction Level II certification and satisfied PA Act 48 requirements.
