Financial Accounting Certificate

This six-credit Financial Accounting Certificate is perfect for those with exposure and experience in bookkeeping, accounts receivable/payable and other accounting practices with no formal academic education, or for those with a strong interest in bookkeeping. The program enhances the participant’s knowledge in the accounting areas noted below and makes him/her a more well-rounded and informed employee.

Required Courses

(Please note that some of the courses below may have prerequisite courses.)

ACCTG 151: Introductory Financial Accounting I
Basic concepts, principles, and practices for the recording, summarizing, and interpreting of accounting data. (3 credits)
Dates: January 15 - February 27, 2018. Class is delivered online.

ACCTG 152: Introductory Financial Accounting II
Accounting for partnerships, corporations, cash flows, certain liabilities and assets, and the analysis of financial statements. (3 credits) Prerequisite: ACCTG 151.
Dates: March 12 - April 22, 2018. Class is delivered online.

Admission to Certificate Programs

Certificate programs and courses are open to high school graduates and to persons who have earned a GED. If you are interested in enrolling in the certificate program, you are required to complete an undergraduate non-degree enrollment form.
