In Luzerne and Lackawanna counties the manufacturing industry ranks third in employment, and it is predicted that manufacturing employment needs in those counties, as well as in our northern counties, will only grow. With this in mind, Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education is offering the following manufacturing and logistics workforce programs:
ERP/SAP Certificate
SAP® is the leading Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) software company in the world. Evening credit classes are available for adult learners.
Project Management
This certificate program is designed for the participants in planning and business fields by enhancing the skills of technical competence and practical application. As part of the program students will work on a project that carries through all four required courses.
Supply Chain Management
This for-credit certificate program addresses the needs of manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, merchandisers, transportation and warehousing firms, and government agencies. The implications of e‑commerce in relation to supply chain management are also explored.
Certificate in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
This program is in association with ASCM®, Association of Supply Chain Management (formerly APICS®), which will prepare the student to take the CPIM certification exam.
Supervision Essentials
This program offers four distinct courses covering supervisor roles and responsibilities, managing employee responsibilities, and managing employees.
Spanish in the Workplace
This course will facilitate basic communication with employees and clients whose native language is Spanish.
AutoCAD
Participants will acquire the fundamental skills for the development of architectural and engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
Introduction to Corporate Communications
This for-credit certificate program will provide the foundation for effective communication in a corporate environment.
Introduction to Business Management
This for-credit certificate program is designed to provide participants with a strong foundation in management, finance, communications, writing, and technology.
