New Student Orientation (First-Year Students)
Check-in for New Student Orientation (NSO) begins at 8:15 am in the Nesbitt Academic Commons. Use the University Drive entrance to campus; please feel free to park in either the Faculty/Staff lot or the Student lot near the entrance. Refer to the directions to campus and the campus map for details. NSO ends at 4:00 pm. Please plan to stay through to the end in order to receive all of the information necessary to begin your Penn State journey. There are sessions for parents/family members of first-year students on strategies for supporting their Penn State student’s success.
Transfer Student Orientation (Transfer Students)
Check-in for Transfer Student Orientation (TSO) begins at 5:00 pm in the Bell Center for Technology. Use the Nittany Drive entrance to campus; please feel free to park in either the Faculty/Staff lot or the Student lot next to the building. Refer to the directions to campus and the campus map for details. TSO ends at approximately 8:30 pm. Please plan to stay through to the end in order to receive all of the information necessary to begin your Penn State journey.
For All Students Attending Orientation (NSO or TSO)
Students will need to know their Penn State Access Account and password for scheduling. Students should also complete the Pre-Registration Activity Guide in LionPath before attending. The agenda consists of a welcome to the campus, followed by presentations on academics, financial aid, student activities, and student services. Students will individually meet with an academic adviser to plan their first-semester schedules. Individual financial aid advising appointments are also available. A technology seminar rounds out the event.

Please bring valid photo identification such as a driver’s license or passport (high school IDs are not acceptable) so you can receive your Penn State ID card.
