On behalf of the Penn State University Wilkes-Barre department of Police & Public Safety, I would like to welcome you to our website. I hope you will all take the time to familiarize yourself with the information listed within this site.

Police & Public Safety provides all law enforcement and security services to the Wilkes-Barre campus. In addition, the department is also responsible for parking enforcement and traffic control. Please be aware that Police & Public Safety on the Wilkes-Barre campus does not have facilities available to store any firearms.

The department of Police & Public Safety maintains a cooperative relationship with the Lehman Township Police and the Pennsylvania State Police. Criminal incidents are investigated by campus officers. Assistance in investigations may be requested from the Pennsylvania State Police or the Lehman Township Police for serious criminal incidents.

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre Police & Public Safety office is located in Hayfield House, room 111. Normal office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

If you need to speak with an officer, you may call the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Police & Public Safety office at 570-675-9111 during normal business hours. You may also contact the department by dialing our cell number at 570-406-2058. In the event of an emergency, call 911.

All members of the department maintain current certification in both first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED. Periodic in-service training is also provided in subjects directed toward the specific needs of the campus.
