Stand for State, an initiative aimed at empowering Penn Staters to stand up for one another, kicked off this week with University-wide events. Many of the decorations and giveaways were inspired by Green Dot, a national leader in violence prevention education.
With the June 20 announcement of six more seed grants to Penn State campuses, the Invent Penn State initiative covers 13 locations around the Commonwealth.
Thanks to all who participated in the inaugural Penn State Today photo contest! We received a wonderful selection of photos reflecting 'Summer at Penn State.' Our top five are featured here. The winner of the inaugural Penn State Today photo contest is Anita Colyer Graham, Penn State alumna and manager of access for Penn State's World Campus. Keep an eye out for our next photo contest, set to begin in early September.

THON is a year-round fundraising and awareness campaign for the fight against childhood cancer with proceeds going directly to Four Diamonds and the Penn State Children's Hospital in Hershey.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre was one of six teams from various local organizations to participate in the 2017 Wilkes-Barre Dragon Boat Races - a 200 yard water dash between downtown Wilkes-Barre's two bridges over the Susquehanna River.
