Beginners’ Clinic

Are you looking to learn the game of golf in a relaxed atmosphere with players of your own ability? Have fun learning the fun­da­men­tals of golf, including grip, stance, alignment, and the full swing. Develop skills for pitching, chipping, and putting on a grass putting green, with plenty of time for questions about everything from clubs to course strategies. Five two-hour sessions will be held on the Penn State Wilkes‑Barre soccer field in Lehman, and a 6th session will be held on a golf course. Bring clubs and a drink.

Dates: Tuesdays; May 8, 15, 22, 29, and June 5. Round of golf played on a course, location TBD, on June 9th (Saturday)
Time: 6:00–8:00 pm; Golf play day 3:00 pm
Cost: $159.00 per person

Ladies Golf Clinic for Beginners to be offered from our Penn State Wilkes-Barre Northern Tier Center location:

Dates: Thursdays; May 10, 17, 24, 31, and June 7. Round of golf played on a course, June 16th (Saturday)
Time: 6:00–8:00 pm; Golf play day 8:00 am

Advanced Clinic

Have you been playing golf and are looking for ways to improve your game? Then this is the clinic for you. Learn tips and drills that will help improve your game and your score. Learn to hit it longer and straighter, and hit specialty shots such as from side-hill lies and wind shots. Pitch it closer and make more putts. Plenty of time for questions, questions, and more questions. Review the fundamentals and talk about the rules and course management. It’s your clinic. Five two-hour sessions will be held on the Penn State Wilkes‑Barre soccer field in Lehman, and a 6th session will be held on a golf course.

Dates: Wednesdays; May 9, 16, 23, 30, and June 6.  Round of golf played on a course, location TBD, on June 10th (Sunday)
Time:  6:00–8:00 pm; Golf play day 3:00 pm
Cost: $159.00 per person

About the instructor: Ed Keil is in his 30th year coaching golf at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. In that time, the team has captured seven league championship titles, most recently in 2010. Ed has been a golf course superintendent since 1980 and a 26-year Class A member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. He is an alumnus of Penn State Wilkes‑Barre.
